Art & Product Questions

Are these original paintings or prints?

All the artwork currently available on my site is original abstract art — one-of-a-kind acrylic paintings created with palette knives, and heavy gel medium with lots of texture. Each piece is signed and comes with a companion 2-minute color meditation to help you connect with the art in a mindful way. Prints will be coming soon!

Do you offer prints or only original artwork?

Right now, I only offer original paintings. But high-quality prints of selected pieces are in the works — including fine art paper and canvas options. Join my mailing list to be the first to know when they drop.

What does “multidirectional” mean in your paintings?

Multidirectional means the painting is intentionally designed to be hung in more than one orientation. There’s no “top” or “bottom” — it’s about what you see and how it makes you feel. You can rotate it anytime to shift your perspective or mood. It’s like visual meditation.

How do I know which way to hang the painting?

There’s no wrong way. I encourage you to try hanging it in different directions until something clicks. Some people rotate the painting every few months as a ritual — it changes the energy in the room and often reveals new forms or figures in the work.

What’s included with the artwork when I purchase it?

Each original painting comes with:

  • A signed certificate of authenticity.
  • A 2-minute guided audio meditation tailored to that specific piece.
  • Hanging hardware (for larger works).
  • A care guide for textured acrylic art.

How are your paintings textured? What materials do you use?

I primarily use acrylic paint mixed with heavy gel medium to create rich, tactile textures. I work almost exclusively with palette knives and a dabbing technique to layer the paint. In some pieces, the paint stands off the canvas by up to half an inch — you’ll want to run your fingers over it. If you do, only the lightest touch is recommended.

Are the paintings signed or titled on the front or back?

I sign each painting with my initials “GS,” usually in the bottom right corner — unless it disrupts the flow of the piece. The title, full signature, and date are always noted on the back.

Can I request a painting similar to one that’s sold?

Yes! If you see a sold painting that you love, I can create something inspired by it as a custom commission. While no two pieces are ever the same, I’ll work with your favorite colors, mood, and texture to create something uniquely yours.

Custom Work / Commissions

Do you accept commissions for custom abstract paintings?

Yes, I do! Whether you’re looking for a custom abstract painting on canvas to match your space, express a feeling, or honor a moment, I’d love to work with you to create something personal and original.

How does the commission process work?

We’ll start with a conversation. You’ll share what drew you to my work, your color preferences, size needs, and anything else that inspires you. From there, I’ll sketch a direction, keep you updated with progress photos if you’d like, and let the painting take shape organically. Every piece is created with care and intention, just like my originals.

Can I choose the colors, size, or vibe for a custom piece?

Absolutely. While I always maintain my artistic process and style, I’ll work with your preferences around color palette, mood, size, and orientation. Think of it as a creative collaboration. I’ll bring the texture and movement, you’ll bring the vision.

How long does a commissioned piece take to complete?

That depends on the size and my schedule, but most commissions are completed within 4 to 6 weeks. I’ll give you a general timeframe up front, and if there’s a specific deadline like a gift or event, just let me know and I’ll do my best to meet it.

Mindful Meditations

What is the 2-minute meditation that comes with each painting?

Each original abstract painting includes a short, guided audio meditation designed to help you connect more deeply with the artwork, and with yourself. It invites you to focus on one color in the painting and trace its presence across the canvas as a way to pause, breathe, and reset. It’s a small moment of stillness in your day. It’s also a way to take a short, two-minute break from the overwhelm of your day — a chance to realign yourself before diving back into the chaos or heavy workload ahead.

How do I access the meditation?

Every painting comes with a discreet QR code that links directly to the meditation for that piece. You can scan it anytime — whether the painting is on your wall or you just need a moment of calm on the go. The QR may be included on a tag, in a sleeve on the back, or integrated near the signature on the artwork itself. Once you access the meditation, you can download the audio file to your phone or computer for easy playback — but the QR code will always be there when you need it again.

Can I purchase or listen to the meditations separately from the art?

Right now, the meditations are exclusive to collectors of my original work. They’re created in direct response to the energy, texture, and color of each piece. In the future, I may explore releasing a library of meditations inspired by the themes in my paintings. Become part of my palette (email list) if that’s something you’d love to hear more about.

General / Experience

Do your paintings look different in person than online?

Yes, and that’s part of the magic. While I do my best to photograph them accurately – especially the colors – the texture and dimensionality of my abstract paintings on canvas is something you really have to experience in person. Light hits the paint differently depending on where you’re standing, and that creates a shifting, interactive effect that’s hard to capture in a photo.

Can I see your work in a gallery or studio?

At the moment, my work is available exclusively online, but I’m always open to gallery partnerships or in-person opportunities. If you’re interested in viewing a specific piece before buying, or you’re a gallery owner or curator, please reach out directly.

How do I care for or clean a textured acrylic painting?

Each painting comes with a detailed care guide (or you can find it on the website). In short: keep it out of direct sunlight, dust it gently with a soft brush, and avoid using water or sprays. These pieces are durable but should still be treated with love.

Can I rotate the painting regularly without damaging it?

Yes! Many of my collectors love rotating their painting every few months. Just make sure you rehang it securely each time. The canvases are sturdy and wired to support multidirectional display — they’re meant to shift with your space and your perspective.
