“Sand + Tears” is 20 x 16 mixed media abstract art that integrates multiple materials – tissue paper, sand, and small pebbles – creating a richly textured surface that engages both visually and tactilely. Painted after the loss of my father, this piece combines both the rough textures that evoke wear, erosion, and quiet resilience, and bright colors as a reminder of both his vibrant life as well as my own life that is still to be lived – grief and all.
